The Macau Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (MOCERT) organized with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Macao Chapter, and Macau New Technologies Incubator Centre (MANETIC) a string of seminars on Botnets, DDoS Trends and Security Countermeasures and a clean PC workshop to highlight the risks and exposures that all organizations and individual users face with regard to infected computers and their consequences on 26th July 2010, at Manetic.

A talk about the current situation of Bonets and DDoS attack in Hong Kong was delivered by Mr. Roy Ko, from the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team (HKCERT). A demonstration, by Mr. Chen Kun Peng of NSFOCUS, illustrated the devastation a DDoS attack has on a victim’s internet presence. Mr. Oliver Kwan from Prolexic highlighted countermeasures that victimized companies may take to protect themselves. Mr. Geoffroy Thonon from the Macau Computer Emergency Response Team (MOCERT) presented the countermeasures, preventing computers from being part of botnets.
