The Macau Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (MOCERT) jointly hosted with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (Macao Chapter) and Macau New Technologies Incubation Centre (MANETIC), a community awareness seminar addressing the current issue of Phishing websites titled ““Phishing Attacks – Biting back HARD” on 1st June 2012.

MOCERT is currently handling an influx of Phishing cases where banking fraudulent websites are being hosted outside of Macau or fraudulent foreign bank websites are unwittingly being hosted in Macau.  In this seminar, MOCERT shares its insights of the economics of Webfraud and Phishing and highlights its main weakness.  Also the methods and techniques on how user can act, as well as more advanced techniques of how these sites are handled and ultimately brought down are shared with the community.  This seminar is aimed at handling Phish sites and how the community, individuals and organizations can bite back, and hard.
